When or how often does a stairlift need servicing ?

Not having your stairlift serviced regularly is a false economy. servicing your stairlift regularly can catch minor issues before they become major problems and keep your stairlift in a good working order for longer. So how do you know when your stairlift needs servicing?

1- Because the user manual says so

Particularly for owners of new stairlifts, the stairlift manual is full of useful knowledge, not least the intervals at which you should service your lift.

3- Charging system.

How do you know that your stairlift is charging?

Modern stairlifts are all operated by DC motors, with internal batteries which’s require charging at all times, most of stairlifts give a sound noise with a code display on the diagnostic panel. if you stairlift is making a sound or beeping, while its on its charging point and the power supply is turned on, that’s a fault can cause the lift to stop completely in few hours if not been looked at. 

4- Stairlift traveling slow.

This is a sign that the internal batteries are going dry or faulty not holding charge, the stairlift will get you going for few days going slow, but it will come to a point and it will stop and wont move.

5- Scraping noise while travling or when it reach the stopping points.

Now this is the most obvious sign of a serious problem, the sound of grinding or scraping is a sure sign that you need to call for a service engineer. Any noises or if the stairlift traveling with difficulty means that you definitely need to get your stairlift serviced .

6- Scratches on the stairlift track ( rail )

If you noticed scratches on the track thats a sighn of jamed one or more rollers, that shouldnt be ignored, as it will lead to a complete failure to your machine.
